TIPS ON WORKING WITH A DAYCARE PROVIDER
At Pacific DayCare, we understand how difficult it can be to invite someone into your home
to take care of your child. Here are some tips on how to work with a daycare provider.
WORKING WITH A CARE PROVIDER
- Trust. First and foremost, mutual trust is the foundation of a great relationship between a care provider and a parent. We understand that trust is something that develops over time, however it is important to establish a relationship with your daycare provider, and it is important to trust each other.
- Voicing your expectations, concerns, and values. What makes it easier for your careprovider is to know where you stand on your values, and what your expectations of them are. Being honest and making clear what is important to you when it comes to your child’s well being is sometimes overlooked. One of the benefits of this is that while you’re away, you will feel more at peace knowing that you and the person taking care of your child are on the same page.
- Have Assessment conversations. If you have goals or activities you would like your child to practice, this should be communicated. Moreover, having assessment conversations of any progress towards goals you’ve made as well as conversations about what happened while you were away, can also be helpful. In this you can be more in sync with your caregiver in bigger stride of receiving the dynamic that works for you.

Your child is always our priority and we encourage open dialogue with your care provider to create the best possible relationship.
